Our mission at Mt. Rainier Leadership is to prepare the ONE, in hopes that they will return to their school to empower the MANY, their student body and community.
As a staff, we are committed to developing leaders who make an impact not only in their school communities, but in society as well. We aspire to raise awareness in our delegates, sharpen their skills, and teach them practical tools. By facilitating experiential learning, we seek to provide lessons that will serve delegates throughout their lives. During this week, we stretch ourselves and each other beyond our comfort zones, for we believe that genuine growth is realized through true challenge, whether as individuals or as a group.

Welcome to Mt Rainier Leadership!
I was introduced to Mt Rainier Leadership the summer before my senior year in high school as a delegate from Cascade High School in Everett. I have been involved in Mt Rainier Leadership since the summer of 1977, as a delegate, a Junior Counselor, intern, Senior Counselor, Assistant Director and finally, the Director since 2007.
The Magic of Rainier brings me back to camp each year. The Magic I experience each every time changes based on what is going on in my life away from camp, and the energy and experiences I share each year with the staff and delegates. Each year the Magic brings something new to my life that I take with me when I leave camp.
I hope you challenge yourself to learn and grow as an individual during your time here. Each message shared at camp touches our delegates in different ways, so I encourage you to find the way the message speaks to you in your life. It may be something super small or a big ‘aha’ moment. Each year I learn something new and push myself to grow as a leader. This is why Rainier Magic changes each year for me personally.
The lessons of Rainier will follow you from camp. They will show up at school, in your community involvement, and even in your future job choices. We don’t always know the lessons we have learned or how they will apply until we are in the moment we need them, so trust who you are and who you want to be. The Magic of Rainier will continue to support you wherever you go.
